Origin

Turkey is the world’s largest producer and exporter of apricots, while the fruit is originally from China. In addition to Turkey, there are a number of countries in the Middle East where these fruits grow, such as Afghanistan and Iran. An apricot tree gives fruit for the first time after about 4 to 5 years and the fruit is ripe during July. This means that the harvest mainly takes place in July and August every year.

Application

Dried apricots are mainly used as a snack. It is a healthy snack that is rich in fiber, protein and vitamins. They can also serve as an ingredient in breakfast. Dried apricots can also be added in, for example, rice dishes.
